Back from the Great White North

It’s been a busy couple of weeks at the WH39k homestead.  Last week, was naturally Thanksgiving (for those of us in the U.S.), and the previous week I spent above the Arctic Circle in a little eskimo village.  Though they did have internet access (something I was actually sent up there to upgrade), I didn’t have much time to do any websurfing.

Now that things have calmed down, I intend to post some topics that I’ve been neglecting for a while.  This includes a few errant battle reports, some minor hobby progress updates, and um… I know there’s something else, but I just can’t think of it.   Oh yeah, everyone’s favorite topic: ebay!

Anywho, I’ll leave you with an image that I found at the local dump at that sleepy little eskimo village.  You’ll note that it appears that even in the wilds of Alaska, the taint of Khorne is strong…

Oh, and to add to your list of things to blog about: Chaos…?

    • Chaos has been something that I’ve liked since, well I first began. I really liked the fluff behind them in 2nd edition, but they really took hold on me when Genestealer Cults went bye-bye and they sort of came back (as Lost & The Damned) in the Eye of Terror codex. I’ve been holding on to a Chaos army ever since–but not really ever playing it. I even went so far as to have a bunch of the figures professionally painted by another member of the blogosphere–that was two years ago, and they’ve yet to see the table…

      One day though…

      • Really? That’s interesting. I’d like to see some pictures of your army – especially the painted stuff.

I’ve been a fan of chaos since probably 2nd edition too, although I seem to like it more and more as the years go by! (On the other hand, as with many things GW, I am able to ignore some fluff developments and just pretend they don’t exist.)

One of my semi-projects is a daemon army – partly because I think they’re a different and interesting army but partly as an opportunity for including all sorts of great models that I’d never use any other way – trolls, chaos warrior champions on juggernaughts, WFB monsters, etc.

And genestealer cults are another favourite of mine. I was never particularly a fan of the limos, but the concept is just brilliant. I love a lot of the old models and would love to make a cult army now.
